diop yes, we know it's the OS. Starting the the "anniversary update" something changed about rendering in Win10. It was around when they introduced "composition spaces" so the assumption has been that was to blame. I can easily update a machine from 1589 to 1611 and have it look awful, and then revert it immediately and have it look fine again. I've done so repeatedly. The same machine, when running 18xx, looks ... better. Not as good as 15xx but getting there. Whatever they did, it's part of the OS and irrespective of drivers (I've done this on Intel, nVidia Quadro, and GeForce with manufacturer's drivers).
