One thing that will help us convince reviewers to bother with testing is hard data showing it's best to avoid pwm , even for the average person, and not only for us the minority of sensitive people .
So in , which is a standard for led lighting by the IEEE , a big influential body(that also did standard for wifi) , aimed at guiding engineers to create safe and healthy led lights. Their recommendations are in figure 20 at page 43 ,which implies that for displays, which have a varying modulation depth , it's safest to use frequencies above 1.2KHZ. Also, in page 41, under low-risk , they mention 3KHZ and above as safe frequencies.
As for how we spread this knowledge - One way could be to convince some popular Apple bloggers , to write about Apple's use of flicker free display , in light of this standard(and maybe other data) - and how it makes Apple superior - compared to android and put the names of a few Android flagships with bad pwm.
This, hopefully , will create a bit of flame war , i.e. awareness.
What do you think ?
