Seagull but if I understand correctly that's capability that neither mine or JTLs software can yet perform.

Correct

When I tested WIndows 7 vs 10 on my e-ink display with HDMI (Dasung Paperlike Pro), dithering patterns appeared different.

degen What hardware of the system under test?

JTL Hey, I am not sure if my question makes sense...could your method be used also to study the effect of lowering display resolution on dithering?

Amazing, great work. Is there any chance it will be more easily usable as a simple exe or an app for mac or iphone even? Im not that good with using source code.

Outside of attempting to visualize an existing video it requires special hardware.

          EXE might be possible

JTL Sorry for not getting back sooner. Redoing some testing. Maybe it can give some ideas for using videodiff. Not feeling so well but I will get to it!

Donux Funny, but lets keep things on topic

Alyosha2001 I found this listing on ebay, seems to be more available

I've seen that listing before. One thing to be aware of is that does not include a case bracket so you need to be mindful of the weight of anything connected to the card by the DVI port, also the weight being pressed against the card in the PCIe slot. I have another unit of the same model with bracket so it might be possible to fabricate a bracket of the appropriate size with some effort (metal work).

Could you make it available as exe, as I don't know how to use source code?

Releasing VideoDiff as an EXE might be possible, however something to be aware of is that VideoDiff is a command line application undergoing rapid development as a research project, so it's not some friendly "point and click" GUI. As a result you might want to familiarize yourself with its internals anyway. That being said I'm available for assistance and it's not that hard to understand when you get the hang of it.

Yes, I was going to try to build the bracket, if you could provide the measurements that would be very helpful, thanks!

            • JTL replied to this.

Alyosha2001 Here are some pictures of measuring the bracket from the card. In addition the dimensions and the usable connector area of the PCIe bracket are standardized.

Thanks, it doesn't seem complicated. So it can capture HDMI, too, via dvi-hdmi cable?

I haven't tested that (yet), but this cable (model: 303002-10-AU) looks like the best bet to me.
