Hi,
I'm running similar hardware both at home and at work and unfortunately it feels a lot worse at home. As discussed in other threads, I blame the fact that, at least during the week, I'm at home mostly during the night, so I have to look at my screen with artificial light instead of the natural light I mostly get during the day in the office. In the office it feels way better, that is.
I think a big part of the issue is the contrast between the lighting in my screen and the rest of the room. For instance, if I'm in a dark room and I try to use my laptop, I immediately feel a pinch in my eyes. Running the same experiment in a normally lit room is not perfect, but certainly a lot better. I can clearly see that my screens are brighter than the rest of the room, but I'm also sensitive to other lights in the room. The best I could come up with was having a couple of lights turned against my white walls (turned in such a way that I can't see the bulb, as that would immediately make my eyes bleed), to try to spread the luminosity throughout the wall, and hence, the room, a bit. It kind of works, although I still feel that the walls are way brighter than I would like (if I put my hand between the wall and my eyes I feel an instant relief).
Maybe instead of having just one stronger light I could have more, dimmer, lights? I would like, as much as possible, to replicate natural light. There are a bunch of natural lights being sold around, but as far as I understand they're all.... LED. I never tried them, but just the idea gives me migraines.
Did some of you notice the same pattern and attempted any interesting alternatives?
Thanks
