I just received my Asus VA24EHE today, so far it has been a bit disappointing.
I'm currently using it in sRGB mode + Flux at 5500K + Contrast lowered to 40 in Intel Graphics Settings. sRGB mode disables all brightness, contrast, color temperature and blue light reduction settings, but for some reason it's easier on my eyes than any other mode (even with lowered brightness and blue light filter enabled). I also set my graphics card to output color range to "limited", but I don't think it made a big difference.
It's hard to describe what the actual problem is, but it seems text is not as sharp as on my trusty old Toshiba Satellite laptop with a TN screen. Also I see an illusion of gentle slow moving white noise like artifacts whenever I look at large light colored areas. This is something that I notice on all newer monitors, but its not noticeable on my old laptop.
EDIT: I tried to take a picture of text on Asus VA24EHE with a VA panel (top) and Asus VX239 with an IPS panel (bottom):
I plugged the monitors into the same machine and used the same scaling settings. Both monitors have the same resolution and size. The text on VA24EHE is harder to focus on and I can feel tension behind my eyes building up as I read. It looks like it's a common problem with VA panels, I'm going to have to return it.
