My feeling is that no, the quantum dot technologies will not be much better. Oled quantum dot will probably share the same problems at normal Oled. Even when driven by DC, not PWM, Oleds still flicker because they are an emissive display. They flicker every frame when the display refreshes because there is a small time when the driver has forgotten the old frame's pixel values and is waiting for new. Quantum dot will largely work in the same way unfortunately, as will micro-led. These technologies will emit non-polarised light though, which I know is an aggravating factor for me, but not a cause.
Whether quantum LCD will be better will depend how big an issue colour spectra is. Personally, I believe blue light is an aggravating factor, but that I am much more sensitive to flickering and dithering. Even with flicker free back lights, non dithering GPUs and native 8-bit monitors, LCDs panels will still have some flicker, and unfortunately a quantum dot back light will not affect this.
