I was looking at this for a video system - anyone try these smaller screens? https://www.dji.com/nl/pocket-2
Do you have a video camera you can use without eye strains? Which one?
Was also looking at the older Hero 3 GoPro. Any thoughts??I can't use the graphics card. Only on board graphics from the motherboard.
Making the gaming teen in my old man shell weep…Anyone have experience with the Go Pro video camera line? Was thinking of trying a Go Pro as my old iPhone 5 is finally giving up. Not sure what I will do to replace it, but at least less work for it if I can find a video camera I can use instead. GoPro HERO 10 Black - Action camera or another version? here is a link if it helps: https://www.bol.com/nl/nl/p/gopro-hero-10-black/9300000052274820/?bltgh=qeoJE-x0BU-asgQKOtFM-Q.2_67.70.ProductImage
So any video cam that is eye friendly would be appreciated!I use an older Lenovo B50-80 on Windows 8.1 and no graphics card. Only system I know I can still use.
simplex I tried a iPhone6 many years ago and had issues - first phone that caused them. Is the 6s different? I can only find used phones with the OS updated - so unless it maxes out at 15.7.3 - would it be possible to load that OS?
Seems if they just used the old tech screen from the iPhone5 and display graphics, which all exists already, and added an updated OS that accepts new apps etc it would be a simple task.
And honestly I'd buck up $10k for a modern smart phone I could use with all Apps!!!
Wondering if running the new PWM mobiles at maximum brightness to minimize the blinking effect and adding a dark screen cover would help. Has anyone tried that? I don't want to just assume it won't work…
My long lived lovely iPhone5 is really not doing well in the heat. I've tried many newer mobiles all cause optic nerve migraines. I'm also stuck on windows 8.1 which is fine unless I use a newer phone, then my laptop will also trigger the attacks and I need to sleep to reset my eyes. Even then it may take a few days before I can use my laptop again. Windows 10 triggers me not sure about 11. Can't even use a iPhone5SE, just the basic iPhone5.
Are there any flip phone or minimal screens yet? What do we all do now? I'm stuck on a pair of dying iPhone 5's and desperate for a newer mobile if anyone has a suggestion. Life is so much harder without a proper mobile! Really need the train and maps apps… If the PWM is mostly flashing when darker then the full brightness and a dark UV screen shield may help? Really getting desperate now.
Thanks for any help and feedback possible. Can we make a go fund me to pay a company to produce a batch of eye friendly phones? I'd pitch in a grand for that!!!

I use 8.1 still seems the best for me. Tried 10 and not possible. Never tried 11. Used to use 7 with no issues as well. I'm stuck on a pair of dying iPhone 5's and desperate for a newer mobile if anyone has a suggestion. Wondering if running them at maximum brightness to minimize the blinking effect and add a dark screen cover. Has anyone tried that? I don't want to just assume it won't work…
Lenovo B50-80 without any graphics card just on the motherboard. Windows 8.1 since 10+ seems to cause issues. Would love a better computer!
I just came across this new phone designed to stop flicker by Honor! Anyone have experience or opinions? I'm stuck on a iPhone5 and an old Lenovo laptop without a GPU or video card and running windows 8.1 At least everything still works and I can function normally. But my phone is WAY past it's expected lifespan and I'm desperate for a smart phone replacement… https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Q_aqB1ipsoU
Never even heard of Honor… https://www.hihonor.com/global/phones/Anyone try this phone? Nokia 2720 Flip?
The classic flip phone is back. Always stay connected thanks to 4G, WhatsApp and Facebook. It has two screens. You can immediately see who is calling on the external screen. Thanks to the large buttons, you can easily send messages and make calls.

I get optic nerve migraines from most PC's and phones newer than 2010 or so. iPhone5 was always good. I use a Lenovo B50-80 with just the onboard graphics and is usually ok, unless I'm exposed to lots of mold (Netherlands). Hoping to find a new phone that will let me use Whatssapp and other apps.
Thanks for any and all feedback and help! I've seen new Lenovo's marked "flicker free" so the manufacturers seem to be aware of their bad designs. Hopefully they will improve the safety of their devices soon.
Just saw this advertised, but I'm not convinced the issue is less monitor and more graphics crad generated. At least someone is waking up to the unhealthy eye strain their product designs are causing! https://www.bestmonitor.io/what-is-flicker-free-technology/
Hi again and Happy Holidays all! Once again I'm finding a application I can't run - this time Blender 3.0. So I'm again wishing I can add a dedicated graphics card to my or a new laptop. I'm stuck with my old iPhone 5 still and a Lenovo B50-80 with a i5 core and windows 8.1 and just the onboard graphics from the motherboard. Am I still just out of luck? Or are there any eye safe graphics cards yet? Thanks!
I too cover all the LED's with tape. The first step when a new item is plugged in is grab some duct tape and add layers. I need some of the black electrical tape...
I tried a 2018 man mini and had to return it after less than a week. I get optic nerve migraines only from the new screens and had never had any symptoms other than from computer and phone screens. I use a old iPhone 5 as all of the newer ones seem to trigger an attack. I still use an old Lenovo B50-80 and a i5 CPU with almost no issues. My old macbook 2008? was also wonderful but is too old now. Searching for a new laptop - want a gaming one, but it doesn't seem any will work and not give me an attack. Any suggestions would be appreciated...
What about the refresh rate? I see they have 50, 60 and 144 Hz screens.
The linked laptop is a 144HzHi guys and gals, thanks for the help over the years. Still hoping they remove the eye straining tech...
I have an old Lenovo B50-80 with an i5 5200U and windows 8.1 and mostly no issues from it. New Apple phones and computer screens will give me optic nerve migraines within a week of daily use. I use an Apple iPhone 5 with no issues, but the newer ones so far are not usable for me. I'm thinking of a getting a new Lenovo and wonder if anyone has any thoughts? Looking at Lenovo Legion Y740-15IRHg 81UH0064MH or here https://www.coolblue.nl/product/834486/lenovo-legion-y740-15irhg-81uh0064mh.html is an i7 CPU and NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2080 MAX-Q
Thanks for any help you can offer!Hi all, I've been dealing with optic nerve migraines a few years now that were partially caused by mold exposure here in Netherlands. I've since moved and the eye attacks are much less. Recently I tried to use a Apple mini - I had to sell it almost immediately after I tried to use it. That was a month o two ago and my eyes have been better. Recently I had some more attacks and wonder if there was a windows update that may have caused it, or if it was caused from the many cell phones that people use on the trains and buses (I was traveling a great deal the last weeks). I use a older Lenovo with windows 8.1 that is doing auto updates (So it is possibly a update is the cause)
If you can link to any threads for low eye strain laptops, software or OS, I would appreciate it!
Has anyone tried to get the ECJ to force these companies to examine their products? With so many kids and babes looking at screens, it seems very irresponsible to not fix this. (I am affected directly, so you can see why I care!)
Thanks
