MacBook Pro M3 Pro 13” is the worst I ever use. And the only one I cannot use with one eye patched freely. It took me about 4 months to barely use it with one eye patched and I’m still trying to adjust to it

I have this thought, isn't it the case that the eyeglass correction makes it more difficult for us to get used to the screens? When we cover one eye, we force the other eye, (among other thing), to align properly, which may be hindered by the very correction in the glasses and/or the misaligned centers of the lenses relative to the eyeballs. Has anyone thought about these? Maybe if (in theory) we didn't have glasses and patched one eye, it would be easier and faster for us to adopt and cure the problem? What do you think about it?

@mike did you have any device in your life that you can’t adjust by patching? I recently bought MacBook Pro m3 pro with mini led display and it’s the first device which I can’t use even with one eye covered. It gave me photophobia, and I don’t know what to do. Maybe you’ve got some advices? Patching changed my life and I can use any device with one eye closed instead of this particular one
Has anyone managed to deal with photophobia in their MacBook Pro M3? Thanks to the method of patching one eye, I can use almost any device, but this is the first device that I cannot use even with one eye covered. I installed Stillcolors but it didn't help. Maybe someone here have got any other solution? Maybe I’m doing something wrong?
arturpanteleev Can you tell us more about your patching? How long you patching with new devices to accommodate? Do you making any breaks, or maybe when you sit in front of new device you stay still, but for how long? Are you patching only one eye? Or maybe you are switching your eyes? If yes, after how long? If you can, please be precise in terms of time, how many hours, per day, how many days? Etc. I’m patching for about 1h and switching eye. I find out that is better for me to close one eye than patch. How about you? But still I’m able to use device with both eyes for about 1h, sometimes 1,5h and cannot longer. Maybe i need to patch for I don’t know 5h with one device? Please share your thought's. Thank you in advance
Do you have your patched eye closed or open? Because I can see different results with open and closed eye. When my eyes are strained, closing one eye help me get rid of the strain and regenerate myself. However patching with one eye open is for me more like a training and when I'm strained it can worse my symptoms. I have also noticed that covering my eyes alternately helps me more than just covering my dominant eye.
AGI I Was at the point where I can, for example, play on my PS5 for one hour without patching at all, after one hour patch one eye for half of an hour, and then play another ~hour without patching, etc. It was like cure for me, cause before I cannot use almost any devices at all. Unfortunately, despite trying and patching, I wasn't able to last longer without patching than 1/1,5 hour in front of a screen. Although, sometimes when i'm drinking alcohol, I was able to last much longer without patching, even 2-3 hours
Eye patching changed my life. I was so happy, that I can use devices that I cannot from a long time again. But unfortunately something went wrong. I was patching one of my eyes from about a year and recently I think I overloaded my eyes/eye (or maybe my body), got a lot of stress, and lose the ability to use devices to which I got my eyes used by patching. Now I can say, that I’m starting over, somehow I reset my eyes to the stage that I cannot use almost anything at all. The worst part of the problem is that, now the patching wont work at all. I irritate my eyes very quickly, No matter if I’m patching or not. Have any of you had such a problem? Did anyone have to start from scratch? If so, do you have any advice? I'm a little heartbroken because I was able to use all these devices fairly normally and enjoy life in my own way, and now I've lost that opportunity, not knowing why
Hi, I've got same problems as you (with light and screens), but recently I manage to made a little discovery which maybe can help us somehow. My problems starts about 4 years ago, and I tried many things which didn't help me at all. Recently, while surfing the net, I came across "ayurvedic glasses", you can find over the net that they're able to fix/cure your vision problems. They're cheap, so I've decided to give them a try and ordered a pair. It stated that due to little pinholes, light entering the lenses straight, unlike ordinary glasses (or without glasses). You can't just wear them and forget about everything, you have to get used to them, starting from 5 minutes a day, and increase this time by another 5 minutes each day. I tried to use them in front of one of the screens which cause me symptoms even after about 10 minutes, and what I've realized, after couple of days, when I was wearing them for 30 minutes, none of the symptoms occurred at all! Unfortunately, there is one downside, after wearing them for few days I've noticed that my eyesight was getting a bit worse, so I stoped in fear of any eye damage that them can cause me...
All in all, my discovery was that, I didn't experience any symptoms when wearing glasses! Maybe it will help us deal with the problem somehow. Please tell me what you think about this. Maybe someone tried those glasses before? Thanks!
