  • Is it just strain? Or eye damage is possible?

Hi, guys!
I am 28 years old guy, always was spending a lot of time in front of the screen, never had any eye strain until 3 years ago.
I feel eye strain from all the new phone models and from my new Macbook Pro 13, but I still don't have any eye strain at all from my old 2017 Macbook Air (without retina display), 5 year old desctop monitor and my old Galaxy s9 phone.
I was reading the forum a lot and understood that nobody found a solution. All the eye doctors say that my eyes are perfectly healthy and I "just need to lower the brightness of the screen/sit leass in front of the screen/move the screen further from my eyes". lol.
I start to feel eye strain after 15 minutes of using my new Mac or any other new screen. But is it just strain? Or I can permanently damage my eyes or my eyesight? What do you think?

Tom220 eye strain but it can have further side effects - inflammation/headache/ head expansion/hair loss. Where do you feel the strain?

So I don't think any of this causes "permanent damage" for MOST of us... but of course we can't rule it out. Rest seems to set everything right for most of us but not all.

I have found a solutions that have taken me from very bad to very good. Back in 2018 I couldn’t find any screen newer than 2011 that i could use, now with training i can use all screens, but with some discomfort.
