To add to discussion i have Note Air 2 for 1 month and love it!!! It's so much better than CCFL LCD for eyes.
1. it does have front light and it does bother me a bit if i turn it on, in my experience:
Note Air 2 + sunlight > Note Air 2 + lamp > Note Air 2 + internal led light > CCFL LCD > LED LCD
in terms of eye comfort.
2. I never owned kindle, but read experiences that Note Air 2 is less sharp comparing to Kindle,
It's caused by:
--, lower resolution (~2x2 vs 3x3 pixels per dot)
--, touch layer (each additional layer reduced contrast)
But for my use case i would prefer a bit less sharp device but flexible / open device (not just reader)
3. My experience with Note Air 2 makes me consider buying Paperlike 235 / Boox Miro Pro.
