karthi3219 Sorry, but I do not have a good answer :S
My issues started 2013, I've been on MAC the whole time, I never felt the new OS became worse. Few times I had downgraded a version just in case, but did not make any difference.
I'm disabling font anti-aliasing
I turn brightness very low, also use QuickShade
I use DarkReader extension in browser
I can't tolerate resolution higher than 1080p
There must not be any glare at all (dark room at night is easier than daily light)
Turn off contrast to the min on the external monitor
I have used all MACs last decade for prolonged time, except I have not tried the new ARM.
Retina laptops have been the worst for me, the non retina Air ~2015 feels way better. I've been the whole time on external TN monitor, thus both feel the same even on latest OS.
I can't handle the MAC glossy monitors, I use Skinomi matte skin, but it's not as good as the one for iPhone
…few years ago I found super old 17" TN MAC laptop. I think it's from 2007. It was running Tiger.
I did not have any issues with that laptop (similar to the ChromeBook I have mentioned in other posts). Wish Apple kept the TN monitors. BTW that thing is super old, even web pages do not work on it, can't update browser certificates.
In a summary, I do not think I'm affected by flicker, it's just the appearance how the screen blends in the env. If it's not too bright and colors are faded (low contrast / TN) it blends in and becomes usable with some discomfort. It similar thing with my OLED Samsung TV, once I lower contrast (and with that brightness) it becomes much more tolerable.
