Anyone use Amazon Fire HD Tablets?

I can use Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus tablet just fine. However, I can't use any iphone. Even iphone 8 plus started giving me slight headaches. Iphone 11 was pretty bad too. That goes for all android phones i've tried so far.

Why is this? Why can't we get to the bottom of this already. I wish I can turn the fire hd into a giant phone. All of this started in March of 2022 for me. Before that I didn't even know this issue existed.

Depending on what you do, this might be mostly possible with something like a Verizon MiFi -- or if you have a older usable phone, you could tether. Most of your smartphone apps should run on the FireHD 10 Plus. You could do voice/text with something like Google Voice.

John615 Iphone 11 has an AMOLED screen which uses PWM. Same for the newest mostly android phones. If u want a good phone with an LCD Display which doesn't give me eye strain, try Xiaomi Poco X4GT. It has also TUV Rheinald Certification 👍

John615 been an issue for me since early 2019 and the only new devices that have not cause eye strain are Samsung tab a8 and my current phone is a OnePlus 9, been using different versions of OnePlus phones for year with no issues, honestly wish they made laptops or tablets.

The iphone 11 basic one has an lcd screen, i think the pro and max models have amoled. I'll have to try the poco x4gt but other users on this site said it also gave them headaches.

I was able to use an older Fire HD tablet just fine But an identical model triggered symptoms. So there must be some hardware variability among them

I can use Fire HD Plus 10 2021 (claimed to be from US) with Night Shift app in Bright mode for as long as I want to, its screen is very calm. I could probably use the tablet even without Night Shift, but this way the colors are softer.

It appears to be picky about SD cards. It constantly rejected a no name card, but the Samsung Evo 128 GB works fine.

Before that, I had to return Lenovo Yoga Tab 11, which caused me eyestrain and even slight nausea: it does something wrong with the vestibular system. Besides, it's too bright, too blue, and its colors are unnatural — probably all that's interconnected.
