Liberator005 People on this forum, i suspect, are perfectionists by nature. We don't accept what isn't optimal in a way, and strive to understand what's wrong and fix it.
Exactly my dude! I cannot stand something that is not working as intended or is giving me trouble and I always look for a way to fix it.
I cannot accept that for $ 500-600 I am getting a shit display.
I feel like all of a sudden display manufacturers got brain lapse and forgot how and what to do to make a decent display.
I had a Samsung LCD with CCFL lighting and it was the bomb! Used it for 10 years issue-free. Could stay on it for 10+ hours every day and nothing, I was fresh as a daisy. Nowadays there is no display that I can tolerate for more than 2 hours. After that it's bloodshots and headaches. Then it's 2-3 days of recuperating only to be able to work. Unfortunately these days humanity does everything on the computer so these screens have become our work stations, our cinemas, our relax time - everything. And that is also another reason why we get fucked pretty bad from them.
But then there's OSs - seems like those programmers lost their minds too and are inserting shit like vertical blanking, different rendering algorithms and what not that further messes up our brains.
It's a tough love but it's difficult for me to imagine a life away from a computer (be it for gaming, movies, fun etc.). It's here and we must do something to make this time pleasant, safe and healthy.
We must continue to strive to find a way out of this situation and I am sure that at this very moment there is an engineer somewhere in the world that is annoyed by this and has the power and will to fix it and will do it someday somehow eventually.
All we can do is write here and wait for a miracle. But future is bright, believe that!
