  • Word of warning for any other Win 7 users out there

I found out the hard way that the Nov 2022 Security Rollup includes a change that causes the OS to trigger my eye strain. I will be doing a System Restore to try and clear it out, if that doesnt work I have an image from about a month ago I can restore to

I will be using VM's to determine what the latest Monthly security rollup is that does not cause eyestrain issues and thats where I will stop updating. I will post what I find what I figure that out

It is a very interesting observation, i face with the same issue with windows11. But i thought that proplem is in new win 11 version. It happen with me IN VERY BEGINNIG OF NOVEMBER.

Other guys told, that they have same problem with win10 on their NOVEMBER update. And now. you told that you have a problem with win7.

Now i think that problem is not only with new versions, i thought that ALL versions of windows have a common trouble from november update

I have just started working on my comparison analysis, but it looks like the issue MIGHT be a .NET Security Update. Which could be across Windows editions

I have restored my PC to an image from 2 weeks ago and the problem vanished. I had not updated my PC before this since May, so I am building a new Win 7 Virtual Machine and am going to get it to update parity with my physical machine. I am then going to apply each months Updates (June, July, etc all the way to Nov) and see where the issue pops up.

I will keep this thread updated on my findings

ensete cool! I am doing some similar things with win10 and win11. But it is not easy to locate problem place, cause this system use commulitive and hidden updates šŸ™ but we can try

I uninstalled every "Update to Windows" update (leaving only the security ones) and the problem has gone away. I will compile a list of KB's I uninstalled and post later

Thank you for sharing your experience. I wanted to try do the same thing with win 11 - i wanted to download .msi files of updation and setting every updation step by step and observer my symthoms. It it turned off to be hard. I noticed, tht win 11 has hidden background updates. that are not showed in windows update center. Now i am thinking about the way to prevent it, or get possibility to manage this.

Good luck. keep me in touch with your investigation!

could you provide a complete list of installed updates? as of May image, when the problem does not appear
For example, Iā€™m very interested in whether you have the update kb3125574 installed? since in terms of the number of changes it may well be called SP2 )
were there any other changes compared to May? (driver update?)
