ban The ui skin is practically identical to emui/huawei. You won't notice much difference if coming from the nova 5t.
Privacy is a whole different matter altogether! There is always a risk with these chinese brands concerning a user's personal data.
From personal experience (& testing), the worst has been xiaomi - always connecting to dns servers in china, for almost every system app, and the majority of these apps cannot be uninstalled - even via adb commands.
Huawei/honor are the same, although to a much lesser degree, and mainly connect to chinese servers when using their cloud based services & update services, and signing into their user accounts with an ID - to access theme stores etc.
Realme/oppo/oneplus also routinely make connections, but the majority of the apps that do so, can easily be uninstalled via apps/settings.
To be honest, the Nokia G60 wasn't much different. Only this time, some of the system apps (hmd legal, hmd vendorconfig, market feedback agent, MyDevice, Nokia Device, Warranty Validation) were connecting to European servers as opposed to chinese.
However, apart from all the usual google bloatware apps that routinely make connections to google servers, the G60 has very minimal questionable "system/cleaner/phone manager" types apps like the chinese brands do.
I guess it all comes down to a matter of trust, and taking the appropriate precautionary measures, such as using a firewall & a dns resolver etc.
If I'm being frank, I'd trust HMD & mainstream Chinese brands anyday, over Apple & Amazon 🤣. That's due to my own personal biases though.
I guess it also comes down to a trade off - for eye health.
Google/Apple and even Samsung, have absolutely no regard for consumer eye care, compared to the Chinese brands. They seem to take eye health matters very seriously, and implement the latest tech & features (even if the majority of it seems to be useless 🤣), but I like the fact that they are trying.
Even SAR values are taken into consideration, with some xiaomi handsets having the lowest ratings on the market.
Let's not forget, China has a much larger user base compared to the rest of the world alone. More phones are manufactured and sold in China than the whole of Europe & the USA combined - and they most likely act on the feedback they receive from Chinese consumers in terms of eye care, hence why they market all their "eye care" features and PWM rates more so than the western brands.
