I've possibly found a potential alternative way to measure PWM (and even response times!) on phones
Look at this example

Rui Just keep the nord and dont open the g73, the g73 dosent have very good feedback here and on ther sites (there are still sensitive people that can use It tho) but if the nord if working fine for you then opening the Motorola is risky, there are high chances It Will give you problems. Just keep the nord and if you want you can buy an cheap LCD phone that have more chances to be Safe (for example.. honor 70 lite ir realme 9 pro)

      I've never heard of this guy before but he seems to mention PWM in all his videos so I'm glad to see it getting more notice.

        Rui Is your oneplus nord 3 is it Dimensity 9000 version and is it usable for you longtime use any headache, eyestrain I am going to buy it?

          I use more my work phone (Samsung A32 with LCD). But when I use OnePlus Nord 3 I have no problems. But be careful. Radex results are not good for Nord 3, acording to this Russian video:

          But despite having problems with all amoleds (except Xiaomi 13) for some reason I don't have problems with Nord 3, yet…

            I have tested many phones have to sell it because of pwm 90% lcd didn't give me any problem if it has no pwm

            Result:

            Oneplus Nord CE3 lite 5g=despite having lcd its bad for me after changing to 60hz and night light it's usable for some limited usage but still some eyestrain using for past 4 months because no other option

            Nothing phone 1= really bad pwm not usable

            realme 11 pro plus 5g =not good returned it despite having 2160hz pwm

            samsung m34 5g = lot better than samsung A52s it give less eyestrain but after use give mild headache still it give some eyestrain but usable for limited time

            Samsung A52s 5g = worst pwm in all phones

            realme x3 superzoom= lcd but really great no eyestrain but not 5g

            samsung m31=usable for long time but not 5g

            Vividblu99 I got a realme 9 pro a while back and have been using it occasionally around the house. It seems to give me headaches/tinnitus, especially when I use it in the dark. I wanted to see which version I have (your old one or your new one) so I loaded up the same comment and took a screen shot. I took one screen shot with "eye comfort" turned on (I think on the left) and another with it turned off (I think on the right). Unfortunately neither of my screen shots matches yours. I used the small font, but I wonder if there are other differences in our settings.

            I've now turned off "eye comfort" and I'll wait a few days for the headaches/tinnitus to go away and then I'll give it another shot.

              Vividblu99 Can you tell us what model you purchased? I'm thinking about getting the Andonstar AD246S-M which claims to have a 2000x zoom, which would seem to be plenty to see the individual pixels, but if that's the model you have then I'm not going to get it.

                Writing to let you know that the Samsung Z Fold5 on Android 13 is good.

                This is a folding screen, so you can feel the bend under your finger, can't be helped.. but it's a neat device. The folding ability makes it a compact tablet, and the folded outside is another screen. I didn't pay attention to the outside screen.

                Demo mode is set to vivid, but looked fine. You can change it to natural in the settings and it looks better.

                Yes, I know this is a super expensive device for most people. Check it out in a store if you have opportunity to do so.

                PS. I have no plans to get a phone anytime soon, my 2019 device is doing fine. Also, in terms of PWM, I can use it if it's a good kind. This Z Fold5, I looked it up, it does 240 Hz 50% and up, and at lower brightness levels 120 Hz. This is fine because the waveform looks softer, the peaks look wider than what I have now.

                  Rui Bro can you use it in daytime now and why not make it your primary phone instead of Samsung A32 5g ?

                        ashento899 If you are able to use current IPS LED laptop and monitors you should be fine. If they cause you problems, this phone will not work for you.

                        I bought it and tested it, it gives you a massive amount of control over the screen in options easily found in settings. Colour mode, refresh rate, eye safety, blue light blocking, etc. It's amazing. But it's still IPS LED so it did not work for me. I had the same symptoms as I do with all laptop screens made after 2020.

                            nikomanuel96 Guys, last update on the narzo 30 5g.

                            The good things first: now that some weeks have passed i focus more easily on the screen and text. I gave the e5 play to an friend, so i guess stoping using it helped to focus well again.

                            Another thing is that i stoped using the color calibrator app, it was not stable enough.

                            Now goes the bad (or not so bad) part: i just updated it to android 13. I know it was risky but i just did it.😁

                            The good part is: the update is actually good performance wise. Even if i have the 4 gb model it dosent feel worse than a11 , everything is smooth.

                            The bad part: the default font changed, is not that good in comparassion to the a11 one. Now the notification bar is transparent, it looks good on videos and so on but seeing it live on the narzo is not that good, it looks more like an "strange" gray. You cant make it dark like on a11.

                            Also the option of diming the screen on the battery saver section dosent work like before, now it only works when the phone is below 25% .

                            Now goes the good part again: when i see all of this i was thinking i destroyed my narzo, but even with the ugly font and so on i dont feel more or less eye strain using it, i feel the same as on a11!! 🎉.

                            Also, i discovered i can enable the dim option like before using the "set edit" app, i just have to search the "power_save_backlight_state" string and change it to 1. And vuala! I can enable the dim option anytime i want like on a11. But you have to do this everytime the phone reboots.

                            So yes. In the end i would my eyes adapted to the narzo and realme ui 4. I would like the notification bar was black and not transparent as it looks weird for my eyes, and also that the backlight was less intense, but other than that is okay. 7/10

                              Be carefull. Just buy if you have any chance to return it after using it. Like I said there's no DC Dimming, many sites claim it has 1440 Hz pwm dimming, but the official sites does not mention that. Also there's a Russian video where they're testing pwm and the results are not good. Maybe I was lucky with my unit. Something simillar happened with Xiaomi 11T Pro, other amoled with low pwm and was great for my eyes.

                                  Anyone else tried the Nord 3? Has it worked for you? Trying to find more feedback on this device online but so far can only see Rui's posts.
