Do not buy TCL phone. TCL have lot of notification issues, only big and famous apps work correctly. Other apps are killed and they do not send notifications anymore.

Has anyone tried the moto razor + ?
Out of curiosity, has anyone tested Samsung-proprietary PLS LCD displays such as in Samsung Galaxy A04s phones? Are they much brighter than the average screen, as I read somewhere? Thanks for any feedback!

Both the TCL 40 Nxtpaper 4G & 5G models use PWM (confirmed by TCL's support team).
I ordered and used the 40 Nxtpaper 4G, and returned it the following day, as I did not find it comfortable. At lower brightness levels (under 50%), eye strain symptoms developed.
At higher brightness levels, it's usable, but the backlight is harsh, and reading text on screen wasn't a great experience.
Also, when using the Nxtpaper modes, the backlight has a strong blue hue, and the eye comfort mode cannot be activated simultaneously.
Apart from the display issues, the performance of the G88 was awful. Quite laggy, slow, constant stutters and jitters.
The same nxtpaper like effect can be achieved on any other android phone, by investing in a high quality matte anti glare screen protector, and using android's monochrome/grayscale mode. If owning a xiaomi, miui's paper mode would also achieve the same effect (alongside an anti glare matte protector)
Glad to hear it's working for you!
The realme 9 pro has proved to be a hit and miss, from some of the feedback I've been reading.
It works very well for some, and not so well for others.
FYI, I keep mine in dark mode, at a constant 60hz, alongside a celicious matte anti glare screen protector, and It's been working well for me for over a year.
I ended up buying the Razr + and after changing a bunch of screen settings I’ve got it to where I’m not getting headaches, or sore eye sockets, still have the neck pain but it is manageable, although I’m not liking it drying out my eyes
Latest Fairphone 5 update added DC dimming. Tried it out and it's working well, phone is very usuable now

I have the phone for you. Every oked gives me eyestrain. Every eink more or less give me slight eyestrain comparable to looking into nir light. Iphone 11 eyestrain cause of dithering so im very sensitive. I have three devices which gives me no issues and I can use them for hours. Ny phone is poco x3 pro 2 years no eyestrain can use for 8 hours - bad camera but its very good processor better than poco x4 which had dithering. My computer is legion with rtx3070 2021 with best 165hz monitor can use it for hours. Also my tv is old samsung from 2014 no eyestrain.
any usable lcd phone other than realme 9 pro because its not available in my area ?
Vividblu99 Like you I am in the UK and am aware that you have had success with matte anti glare screen protectors.
The main issue I have when immediately looking at a screen is a type of warmth / ray / force being sent out towards my eyes. This varies from device to device.
My current handset, Google Pixel 3a, doesn't cause this.
Is this what a Celicious matte anti-glare screen protector would prevent based on your experience as I am considering getting one ?
Also did you purchase them direct from Celicious or from Amazon ?
After having the razr+ for a week I determined that my increased neck pain was coming from looking at the phone, and after day 4 it started hurting my eye sockets, so I ended up returning it, back to the iPhone 11
wlmsn yea it was close though, no headaches with the no screen flickering setting on

Unfortunately, an anti glare matte protector's main purpose is to prevent glare/reflections, and create a soft matte touch & texture, which for some people (like me), helps with comfortability.
So in terms of preventing or restricting/subduing harsh backlighting, it'll only have a very subtle effect, and may not even be noticeable. So I don't think it'll work well strictly for that purpose.
However, you can look into a privacy protector, which may help to dim & darken a display (as these types of protectors are tinted). I'm unable to advise on which brand to use, as I've rarely ever used privacy protectors on smartphones (but have used them on monitors/laptops in the past).
Another option to consider is using a filtering app, such as Twilight or Screen Dimmer (by REWHEX). These types of apps can help dim harsh backlighting, albeit only on a superficial (overlay) level.
I use sites like amazon & ebay to purchase my matte protectors, and they have not always been model specific. I try to buy ones that are closest in size/dimensions, and on some occasions, I've had to physically cut them to size to make them fit.

Anyone used POCO X4 GT (K50i) is it better than Oneplus Nord CE3 LITE ? I already used Oneplus ce 3 lite I can't use it more than 10 min
Vividblu99 Thanks for the reply.
Yes I have the Twilight app installed on my current device and I use an app called F.Lux on my pc. On the last couple of handsets that I have tried I also installed the Screen & Notifications Dimmer app.
When I first use a new device I have the brightness turned down and change the wallpaper to replicate that of my current handset as well as installing a launcher as I think even the home screen icons can cause an issue whilst my eyes try to adjust.
I use a range of devices currently that all caused mild issues upon first use but after a short period of time my eyes are fine with them now; Google Pixel 3a, Acer K222HQL monitor, Amazon Firestick 4K Max. I recently bought an airfryer and even the LCD screen on this caused a minor issue which is fine now.
Although I have a Pixel 3a I would like another handset both as a backup device but also at least of similar spec so if there is an issue with the Pixel I can switch over.
Thanks for the advice I will continue to search out that elusive device.
joker786 I agree. CE3 Lite causes serious eyestrain Bought it for my son. He broke his previous phone.
joker786 I use Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro. Screen is fine for my eyes.
