hansennnnn PWM never impacted me. I have had symptoms from PWN free displays
I did not disable dithering, on the phone, I don;t know how to do that no do I care to try
BEfore disabling HW overlays the phone was not comfortable to use, with it turned off it is more comfortable. It's not perfect, but on a scale of 1-10, previously it as a 5, Disabling HW overlays makes it an 8.
I'm more interested in what this means for a root cause. It seems the (as I always suspected) that it is primarily a software issue, not a screen issue or graphics hardware issue (for me at least I can't speak for everyone).
I've been doing some research into what Disabling HW overlays actually does, and to make a Windows analogy it seems to make the phone revert to a "GDI" display interface from a "Direct Draw" display interface, and for me Direct Draw is a distinct cause of eye strain on Windows PC.
