Funny possible workaround
I confirm that while drunk I get less eye strain, but of course it's something that doesn't really help that much in practical terms.
Yea it helps. Benzodiazepines help even more but obviously neither are good solutions.
This is likely why some people find relief with matte screen protectors - changes the focal point of your eyes by introducing a textured layer in between the screen and you...
It's really legitimately worth a try. I might nab one from work and try on my MBP 15" Retina and see if it helps.
Gurm it does help. The problem is that on the mac i had, the worse the screen protector (bubbles, low quality), the better. But as a photographer, that became unusable for me. If its for coding its worrh a try. With more quality screen protector, my trouble was back. Wound up returning the mac.
my eyes are especially dry from the strain but when I go out have a few drinks to the point that I'm tipsy, my eyes un-dry itself lol. And I would come back home really late, use the computer while drunk no problem till I wake up the next day staying on the computer for a few hours. But obviously not a solution because that would be like saving your eyes at the expense of your liver.
Also, not for nothing, but stress plays a big role in neurological conditions. Getting drunk/taking drugs is a great way to lower stress, which might have an impact on your symptoms
Due to jet lag I slept 2/3 despite taking 14 drops of Minias (benzodiazepines). I am also without glasses for astigmatism correction (I have only 0.5 / 0.75) and I feel better today (after 8 hours of work in front of a notebook) than many times when I sleep 8 plus hours and use glasses.
I think benzodiazepines can help but it cannot be a long-term solution for sure. I am using a good setup anyway.
