Mine say 1600*1200 @60hz, but I think the actual pixel refresh is much slower than that. the mouse movement seems smooth and all, but i think if it were truly 60hz the dithering you can see would be much faster. so it registers with the video card at 60 but i don't think it ends up that fast at the monitor (though fast enough to seem smooth even with utube etc)
if there is a bad set up it is annoying (all the swarming pixels) but not very harmful. maybe a touch of eye discomfort, but you can see the issue. most often you can just change the color of whatever is the issue. I personally use Linux and have dithering disabled as well as high contrast mode. this is nearly perfect. something like facebook will dither like mad if you don't have dithering disabled. I am able to get an almost perfect set up in windows as well by disabling dithering using registry entries and setting the color scheme to high contrast.
working remotely is my only option.
