Found this mildly interesting, and tempted to try something similar myself with a larger UPERFECT monitor. I guess this would be the most viable path towards a strain free Macbook for now, and provided someone finds a solid portable monitor I don't see any particular downsides apart from aesthetics.

    async For me this is really just a cheap way of getting and testing hardware. Damaged screen laptops go quite cheap so you could have a great machine for a fraction of a cost. Portability is also easily solvable with portable monitor which is around 200 usd. I assume intel versions will be going for pennies too.
