  • Possible reasons for general sick feeling from using windows !!!

Check this out guys I think im getting somewhere with this !! I am seeing with msi afterburner that on the desktop im having 33 frames when i move stuff like windows depended on how I move them they go to the max frame ..I believe this up and down in fps is what is making us sick !!(dynamic refresh rate is off !!!) so I am trying to make windows have a costant in fps draw !!! with chat gpt and some registry tweak I managed to do them correctly but still im getting 33 fps when idle ..I kinda feel a liitle better though with these settings ..Another weird thing is that when I open notepad on windows the record of frametime and framerate from msi aft. stops !!dont know why ..go to where I ask chat gpt (how can i set windows explorer to run always on 144hz but not droping on fps even though nothing is moving) ((((https://chatgpt.com/share/673be9f5-ce5c-800c-99ee-5fe5ee60b825))))and go from there !!!Also my pc feels more responsive after doing this tweaks !! try at your own risk (I believe after some win updates they introduced some weird settings on how windows displays stuff that is messing us up at least me )!! Also use hdmi disable gsync turn vsync on ndvidia controll panel !!set 144hz even though my monitor can do 165 2k .. Spread the word guys !! Also us flux to use software brightness control and set even pwm free monitor to the highest brightness setting.

Changes that microsoft did that makes us sick

Possible Changes to DWM

Recent Windows updates may have introduced changes to DWM that could affect:

  1. Refresh Rate Handling: Dynamic refresh rate adjustments, such as VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) or power-saving techniques, can introduce frame timing issues.

  2. Compositing Changes: DWM uses GPU acceleration to render windows and effects. Updates to how frames are synchronized, rendered, or scaled might affect visual smoothness or introduce artifacts.

  3. Color or Brightness Adjustments: Updates may alter gamma correction, HDR handling, or color profiles.

  4. Latency Variability: Changes in how the system prioritizes rendering tasks might lead to perceptible delays or uneven frame pacing.

FPS isn't a problem unless you have VRR active.

If you haven't disabled compositing, your GPU is currently active on the desktop.

Turn off everything in "Visual Effects" settings. Should work the same in win11.
