Faham when I looked up information under specifications for the two monitors on the Lenovo website, they both said β8 bitβ, could you tell me how you determined only the βhβ model is true 8 bit? Was that in the manual? Asking because I am considering some monitors that I can view in local stores and want to know how to verify it.
From this forum I have gathered that 6 bit+FRC = dithering. Is that also the problem with 8 bit+ FRC? Is it possible to disable the FRC on an 8 bit+FRC monitor in order for it to function like a true 8 bit)?
I tested our Samsungs TVs yesterday and found that they all have significant flicker/flashing when filmed and replayed in slo-mo on my iPhone. I worked with the settings for a while on one of them. When I increased the backlight from 50% to 100% the flicker went away for most programming including most shows streamed from YT and DVDs of old shows that had been digitally remastered. However, it did not completely go away when streaming or playing DVDs of lower budget films likely originally produced for VHS. I plan to work with the settings on the other TVs to see if the results are the same.
Thank you!
