Staycalmsyndrome Thanks! LG 24MP400. BIOS should be in2021. My computer is Lenovo M93p. But it is difficult to say . My office computer is Lenovo M93p too with windows 10 installed in 2021. I am totally fine with it !!

Staycalmsyndrome Yes, this is something I have observed too. Usually there are lots of experimental drivers there, that even vendor does not provide. I think official advice is - install only if you troubleshooting something.

Clokwork Yes, true. All those neural pathways get over activated. The best reasonable solution is - do your 9 to 5, and then off the grid. But this might need to make a huge lifestyle change. For someone working in IT, this would look like suicide. For this reason, I think, some form of neural link will be the future, but it has to be not invasive. Right now translating visual information to the brain is very primitive and does not achieve good human eye to computer interface. Having said that, I have just tried very old Panasonic plasma TV, that should have been ditched long time ago. It flickers severely, it causes immediate brain fog. But long time ago, I was ok with it. So it is over stimulation I think is the issue. Also, I am not convinced that 5G and wifi EMFs that are present 24/7 now, are not making any changes to the brain.

simplex any display with a continuous refresh rate. Eink only updates when there is a change and I find it decent to use anytime.

Thank you. This time though it is not the Windows build version but rather the new notebook screen. Even with the 21H2 build (operating safely on two other machines) it gives mild symptoms on the notebook. I'm now using patching with the latest Windows build. With the patch on -- it feels totally fine. Without it -- mild symptoms still. I guess I need more training/adapting.

tck175 You can try downgrading the bios of your home pc by running a windows executable. Below are links to older versions i found on a forum:

Staycalmsyndrome thanks I will try . But do you think AMD CPU will solve the problem? All my computers are intel except my computer notebook , which is HP 445 G7 with AMD CPU and graphics!

I think downgrading the bios is unnecessary overkill.

There are two things to consider:

PWM - which is a hardware thing of the display. Either it uses pwm to control brightness or not.

Dithering - which is a software thing. "For my eyes" there is no dithering up to Windows 10 21H2. With Windows 11 there is dithering, no matter what hardware I use or whether it's an older or newer bios.

Yes, you are right. 22H2 is also okay. But since there is no LTSC version of 22H2, I downgraded to 21H2 loT Enterprise LTSC. Now I receive updates until 2032.

tck175 You'll have to research that specific AMD cpu and start testing non oled laptops with similar cpu first. For example, the HP 445 G7 can be equipped with:

AMD Ryzen 3 4300U APU with AMD Radeon Graphics(2.7 GHz base clock, up to 3.7 GHz max boost clock, 4 MB L3 cache, 4 cores)
AMD Ryzen 5 4500U APU with AMD Radeon Graphics(2.3 GHz base clock, up to 4.0 GHz max boost clock, 8 MB L3 cache, 6 cores)
AMD Ryzen 7 4700U APU with AMD Radeon Graphics(2.0 GHz base clock, up to 4.1 GHz max boost clock, 8 MB L3 cache, 8 cores)

These are low powered 15W notebook chips based on Zen 2 architecture and Vega integrated graphics. Year of manufacture: 2020.

My guess is that you can tolerate one of the m93p's because it doesn't have updated bios/GOP and the HP 445 G7 notebook because it has very low powered APU chip from AMD. But this is all speculation on my part.

Windows version, PWM in screens and dithering play a role of course. I see Reinhard62 is okay on an AMD laptop with Ryzen 7 Pro 6850U(which is also a 15W TDP chip) and Windows LTSC 2021.

But in general newer Lenovo Notebooks are all PWM free. That's why it is my favourite brand.
