Wow, talk about an echo chamber in here.
@K-Moss All of those quotes from people you're quoting with VA panels espousing their virtues are not people who experience the types of severe debilitating eye strain discussed in these forums. Their perspectives are nice and all, and may hint at potential options, but really bear little relevance to us as a group.
I have tried a Samsung MVA panel and while it was stunning to look at (34" widescreen) - it like so many other monitors left me fuzzy, headache-y, and feeling ill.
Sadly many of us are not in a position to try endless devices and return them - instead having to lose significant money on every single 'if-only-this-one-works' experiment.
My advice to you is - try it - if you think it'll work for you, but do NOT think your situation is exactly the same as all of us here. We've all been told over and over to get our eyes checked, use computer glasses, buy new glasses, buy an 'eye care' monitor model XYZ without PWM etc etc, and don't need people in here trying to impose their 'fix' on us.
I do understand the driving need to talk about this problem with others who 'get' the stress it causes. But slow down, take a deep breath, and listen to the experiences of others here. And yes, many folks here are feeling quite defeated and beaten down by the problem as a whole.
