Gurm I mean, I don't know what to say, I literally did my taxes on TurboTax 2 months ago and had zero pop ups, warnings, or issues.
And if for some reason they do decide to force it to be non compatible in future versions you can always use a browser version.
I use the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite
I use CS3 which works fine on Win 7 and does everything I need it to. I guess I'm lucky.
Windows 7 is not a long-term solution
It's good for at least 3 years, and likely several years after that. According to NetMarketShare, Windows 7 is still represents a 30% share of the global operating system market. That's a LOT of computers running Windows 7. Microsoft exceeded ESU for Windows XP by several extra years due to it's install base and peoples reluctance to upgrade away from it. I could see them doing the same for 7
that's why we're hoping we can work with Microsoft to address the route cause of these issues.
While I support your hope, and would love to be proven wrong, I have precisely 0% confidence in Microsoft ever reversing course and giving users more control over their PC's. Google has shifted the entire software ecosystem to the "rental" model, where you don't really manage your own OS, you turn over the keys to your apps/PC/smartphone to them and they update your technology as they see fit, and Microsoft has gleefully joined that idea. MS has been talking about moving Windows to the software rental model like Adobe for years, and they aren't going to put it off forever.
Remember my golden rule for people with our disability: When you find a configuration that works, DON'T CHANGE IT. Nothing, no feature, no new capability, no options, or new functionality is an acceptable trade off for being in pain. The entire concept of using an OS that the vendor can change without you first testing and then giving your consent is anti ethical to that ethos. Personally I will be using Window 7 until it's no longer feasible and then moving to Linux and seemlessly virtualizing any windows apps I need. Maybe ReactOS will be an option by then as well
