Degen progress notes

22.20.16.4836
Only Intel GPU driver version for UHD 630 adapter (looks like there is a version of it for UHD 620 as well) that works on old pre Anniversary edition Windows 10 builds (I use Windows 10 2015 LTSB exclusively on all my machines, except for my desktop which I am experimenting dual-booting with Linux Mint 20.1. I also have 2015 LTSB on my Dell XPS 15 7590s, which was the last XPS 15 to support old Windows builds with some tweaking).
Yes the driver version is older, from 2017. But if I boot this same driver up on new Windows builds it is painful.

More recently than when I started this thread I have been running my Nvidia Quadro K4000 on my desktop instead of the Intel GPU or GTX 650 Ti Boost. I haven't done enough A/B testing comparing to the other adapters but I've been tolerating it. I've switched to the viewpoint that with my graphics adapters in a pretty good place, good panels, tolerable OS, that most of my strain is coming from software sources now. Web browers which is well known now and others which were mentioned recently like Office and pdf readers.
Was accessing the website versions of Office on Pale Moon last night and that seemed more tolerable than the desktop application. Pale Moon is still my most comfortable browser (sometimes I think Waterfox Classic is OK, but I'm not sure. Pale Moon is better. Basilisk is another one I've been meaning to try).
degen Could you tell me where to get those drivers for UHD 630? I searched on Intel Downloadcenter and could only find 26.20.100.7985 as the oldest ones (from 3/25/2020)
Alyosha2001 I wondered the same thing
jrhack Thanks! I also found them on softpedia, and tried them on 20H2. Still dizziness for me. The 2015 LTSB would not install on my system, 9th gen i7 laptop
Alyosha2001 What was the issue with the install? Make sure you switch from Intel RST in the BIOS to ACHI. The new Intel RST drivers won’t run on 2015 LTSB and this gets around that.
degen I've searched for it, but don't seem to have that option in BIOS

Alyosha2001 I see. Well it’s still possible to get Intel RST on 9th Gen working without any BSOD by manually loading some older Intel RST driver during the 2015 LTSB install. Specifically, Intel RST 16.x (Here is the latest from that branch [https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28992/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-User-Interface-and-Driver], but if it BSOD let me know and I will get you the specific 16.x version that worked for me). Then the installer will see your drive. You need to have the driver on the USB stick which you are doing the install from since it will ask you to load a driver.
By the way, that 22.x Intel GPU driver I recommended loads a completely different WDDM version driver when you install it on 2015 LTSB, WDDM 2.0 instead of WDDM 2.2 when you install on newer Windows, all from the same .exe.
degen I'd like to try that, but for now I have only one internal SSD, on which I have 20H2, because I need it for Adobe Premiere (it won't install on LTSB), and I tried installing 2015LTSB on a external USB SSD, via WinToUSB. I don't see any option to inject some drivers. Maybe if I can find a spare m.2. Thanks for the help!
