What has anyone heard and seen regarding the early hands on videos with the iPhone 14? Have yet to see a reviewer mention it, was hoping MQB would.

Saw a bit about how Huawei boasting that they have upped the PWM frequency to 2000+hrz with a BOE screen. Any potential for this to make it to iPhone, given they (still I believe, after the cheating) are supplying Apple with displays for iPhone 14?

I wrote about that here and it seems things may be different than as advertised.

The Mate 50 Series uses a OLED display with 1440 Hz PWM Frequency. Sadly there is currently not one clue of a better PWM implemention on the new 14 Pro and Max. BOE should only supplie a small part of the displays for iPhone 14. So i don`t think that the iPhone 14 could have a PWM Frequency above 1000 Hz.

I've preorder the iPhone 14 pro, so il will give you a feedback in 10 days!

Now i am using the iPhone X with iOS 14 with zero issue.

I should be receiving the 14 Pro this Friday (16th) and have the Opple lightmaster so I should be able to a) tell you if it works for me and b) get some readings.

RulerofNothing The Mate 50 Series uses a OLED display with 1440 Hz PWM Frequency

The Poco F4 GT was also claiming to use a "1920Hz PWM frequency" but as I wrote here, the situation seems to be different, and its unclear what they're even referring to.

JTL are you talking about the F4? ThePoco X4 GT is supposed to be an IPS LCD display

JTL I just ordered the X4 GT, should get it wednesday, and you got me scared for a moment πŸ˜ƒ

Lauda89 awesome! looking forward to it! I was thinking of getting 14 pro (not max)

markdotpeters5 YES that would be great, some actual readings! I have trouble with the 12mini/XS max at everything but 100% brightness, had a 13 mini that had trouble even at 100% brightness (still PWM dims at the level)

JTL yeah im taking anything from Huawei with a grain of salt and a proxy server

iphone 14 pro uses an LTPO screen and I have no problems with my apple watch LTPO screen. Could there be some luck this time..

                  Bad news guys.

First impressions are not good, I have "brain fog" / disorientation.

Consider that I use without problems: iphone X (ios 14), pixel 4a and samsung A52.

I will try to adapt in the next week, otherwise I will return it and come back with my iphone X which still works very well.

EDIT: I am trying the iphone 14 PRO!

NewDwarf Honestly, I was hopeful. I have never had any problems with OLED devices.

Let's wait for the notebookcheck review to see what frequencies this PWM uses.

Lauda89 You have problems with Iphone 14 Pro, when there is no problems with Iphone X? This is strange because X is guaranteed to have a lower PWM

drima55 I can only speak for myself, but I seem to have more of an issue with the variance in the PWM rate rather than the actual rate itself..

So if the rate is lower it could still be better for me as long as it's stable. The 13 and 14 range are all over the place.
