Try Amazon Kindle (black&white), if you can handle it then I think you will be good with Dasung (Color)
I would not recommend the black and white version Dasung, for a starter you won't be able to see hyperlinks in web pages and the price is almost same as the Color one. Personally for me the comfort was same for both models, however the Color one is much more usable.
I used both models with the front light and it does not bother me, as long I don't make it too bright, aka to match the environment light.
Picture looks static/flat I do not get eye strain, however if there is glare from overhead light or window, even Dasung becomes unusable for me (eg. I can't tolerate plastic menus with glare in restaurants).
btw although comfortable, you can't really use just the Dasung, you will need a second monitor to look some things up. This monitor has some custom rendering logic, so it's not exactly mirroring things as you might expect, some elements on a web page are not visible, once you start bumping contrast then might appear, but some other parts of the site will became too dark and unreadable, so there is not really magic contrast level, when you switch site you need to go over few contrast levels and see which one works best for the given site.
When you open email for example, you might not be able to distinguish which emails are unread/bolded. Tab names are not readable (in both versions of the monitor)...
Overall the monitor is great for coding and reading, and visiting known websites, when visiting random sites you can't trust it what you are missing out 😃 So it's partial fix with a step price.
