Due new model S90D I've bought 65' S90C in promotion. Now it's more then 3 months so I can write this maybe it will help somebody.

First month I was thinking to throw this thru window, but now I can say I found settings that not do any eye strain. It's not that I've trained my eyes if I will reset now TV strain will return imieditly.

For now it's the best TV I've ever seen or used, best colors, contrast and quality. No shadows or blooming. Very good sound quality.

Most importent settings are:

turn off all motions settings,

color profile: standard(film and rest don't work I've tested every one),

brightness: 12 at day, 8 at night, HDR: 2 max,

contrast: 45,

sharpens: 10,

color: 20,

contrast enhancer: low,

color temperature: 1 warm,

white balance: blue saturation: +5,

gamma: +2 and shadows: +3,

color space: original(important!),

rest settings: turned off

Oled kill my eyes no matter the settings or dispositive, plus Samsung and LG displays the worst regarding eye health, you are not going to feel the effects of Oled harsh flicker and contrast immediately but you will.

Abeabe trust me I had the same wated to get back my old LCD TV. I'm very sensitive I even had to visit doctor due eye inflammation and I was angry at this tv. But I've tried many variation of settings and after this now I can watch whole day. If somoebady can try this for some time and return can try my settings. I'm writing this to help becouse qd oled is in my opinion much better in colour's then LG oled wrgb

tomek I believe you, I was able to watch my OLED TV for a year without problems, suddenly one day I started with a little pain in my eyes and sometimes a little dizziness with games and now I can no longer watch any OLED display without getting sharp pain in my eyes and I am now alot more sensitive to light flickering.

In my case it's always about brightness even good devices if are to bright give strain. For me it works I'm using from years now Oled iphone and I hope with this TV will be the same becouse it is great TV.

tomek Yes, fortunately it seems that you don't have any problems with light flickering, otherwise OLED would have caused you pain like it has for many other people.

Abeabe Yes I am, my friends lough at me when I'm coming to them with my flicker free Philips EyeComfort bulbs ๐Ÿ™‚

Hehe yeah you are the first one I heard that is sensitive to light flicker and doesnโ€™t get hurt by a slow flickering in OLED displays, I think itโ€™s 60Hz or 120Hz on TVs depending on the refresh rate which is too low to be comfortable, for example Iโ€™m very sensitive to light flicker and I canโ€™t stand an OLED display, but I can comfortably use a LED TV like the Sony x90L which has 720Hz pwm flicker according to RTINGs, 60Hz flicker from OLED is too low for me.

We are strange that's a fact. I can use iPhone 15 pro max, but only with plastic screen protector and refresh turned to max 60hz. For me it's combination of refresh rate, color of display and surface of the screen. If some thing is changed or wrong direct eye strain and had pain. But for now I have great time that tech and lighting I use can give me normal life. Worst is wisting new places, but it's time to time.

Brightness 12 at day, are you able to see anything with that brightness ? ๐Ÿ™‚

madmozg this samsung is crazy bright and this 12 is enough, rest family no complain

madmozg I was looking at TCL C845 miniled at store, but I felt some eyestrain after using this for maybe 20min, but it depends from settings, brightness and rest settings as I had with samsung OLED

If somebody will try my settings please replay, maybe we can find some common settings wich can help with using it for others or it only work form me.

Settings must be applied just after configuration because default setting are very bright and saturated to avoid fast eye strain.

My panel is QD-OLED second gen so even newer model S90D should work with this settings

              6 days later

Abeabe I came across this thread while searching about my new 65X90L, im using it half as a TV and half plugged into my laptop for gaming but I'm finding my eyes feel dry and scratchy after about half an hour watching it, I'm wondering if it's from PWM? interesting that you have no problems with this TV, did you have to find specific settings that work for you? are you able to see the flicker on it through a camera at high shutter speed with your configuration? I was looking at OLED if this TV doesn't work for me, but it looks like OLED has problems too. thanks!!

There is a line going thru screen like in this gif(on video more fluent but can't upload this ๐Ÿ™‚) and only this settings which I wrote above doesn't make pain in eyes

tomek thanks, I played with OLEDs a lot, and I didn't find a good settings for myself ๐Ÿ™ interesting how it will work as a pc monitor for you ๐Ÿ™‚

qwop Hello, I have pwm sensivity and also I have photophobia so my settings are somewhat dark, I am using my 65x90L at 4k and 120hz in game mode with a rtx4090, 60hz give me eye strain, also I am using it at 0 brightness, contrast 40 or less, sharpness at 0 because more than 0 gives me eye strain, reality creation disabled, enabled gives me eye strain, smooth gradation disabled, local dimming medium, color in expert mode, in adv color temperature R-gain Max, G-gain -13, B-gain -20, hdr disabled and hdmi color range auto and color space auto, everything else I think is at default, I use too a custom high contrast windows theme with a dark brown background and light grey letters, white backgrounds gives me alot of eye strain.
