__528491__ No, because if the light/whatever is disrupting eye movement, then why couldnt it do the same for one eye as well? The glasses I have do more, they also fix accomodation. The prism works as that it balances out the imbalance - one muscle in the eye is strained, the other weak. They move the image to the side so that it is easier for the muscles to adjust. Its not simple, takes years to study so I wouldnt jump to conclusions. Again, nothing to loose trying it for yourself if you can.
diop same as above. Maybe it helps more than using both eyes, but might not help at all.
JTL I dont care, I dont mind having my name connected with this issue, as long as it helps move things forward. Rather make myself an idiot and get this solved than hide.
hpst Its not a red herring if it works. The issue might be multifactorial - in fact looking for one ultimate solution might be the worst idea as you never get anywhere. I separated it into smaller tasks to accomplish and try to get it done one by one (testing bulbs, monitors, displays, my health).
Generally my approach now is this:
1. Get convergence issues solved (few more months, might not be 100% succesful, my case is about 80% success)
2. If it doesnt help, theres new drugs for migraines (erenumab), so get into trials so I can test it
3. Get media attention, try to get what lighaware.org has on this published as much as possible
4. In the meantime look for workarounds, luckily we have some (software, Dasung monitor for worst case, maybe in few years a color one will be available, then Im off any other backlit for good).
5. I am also looking to get a spectrometer from one university, so I have an oscilloscope and spectrometer and can get proper measurements and research on all lightbulbs and displays I have.
I think its better to try and fail than not do anything. I suggest you could do the same. I cannot help anyone here other than just figure out what works for me and then share that with as much detail as possible. I think the wiki is also a good idea even though it might be messy in the beginning.
Ideal thing would be to have one device that works for someone and try that one for everyone else, so we would know if we agree. However we cannot meet, so we would have to send it via mail from one person to another.🙂
