I think there are 2 versions. The old one is Paperlike Pro the new one is Paperlike 3 HD.
I tried last month the new, HD one. I think the main difference is that it supports HD resolution and it's faster. However non of those are relevant for me. I find the HD resolution too tiny. The typing speed was pretty good. The mouse pointer speed is bit lagging even after increasing pointer speed.
ah also forgot to mention that the screen is ghosting a lot, so if you open a web page, once you open a new one and start scrolling you have to manually press to clear the screen. It's problematic for browsing but was not much of a problem in terminal, since I kept the background white and all you do is entering short text commands.
I haven't seen the older version tho! My view of this device was more of a "medical device for disabled person", it did not feel like black and white external monitor. I think nobody without our problem would be able to tolerate this monitor. Since tiny resolution and speed did not mattered for me I think the older version would be OK, considering it's cheaper, but still too expensive.
