It would be interesting to hear which screens is the worst for everyone. Maybe that information can lead to something good for all of us!

After three years of cover-one-eye-training I can handle all screens, and I use a lot of OLED screens nowadays. No tension, but tired eye muscles in the evenings.

One thing is a bit weird. Some months ago I tested some old iPhones 4/4S and iPads (3rd generation 2012), I just started them up and could feel tension headache after a minute. I have tested them a couple of times since that with the same result. The only different from when I used them some years ago is that they have a newer iOS now. As a comparison I use a iPhone 13 Pro with the latest iOS a couple of hours everyday without tension.

For me it's Meizu M6 (which is some super-cheapo model). Gave me a severe spasm in just 5-10 seconds of usage. Dunno why.

I can't stand IPS LCD screens -> instant migraines, though never ones are better than older ones for me.

Any current Apple product + OLED TVs

For me, the worst are OLED TVs. Incredible eyestrain and brain fog in less than a minute

Top 3 worst for me -

  1. MacBook Pro 16" 2019
  2. iPhone XS Max
  3. LG C9 OLED TV

I don't know what Apple did with that 16" MacBook, but it gave me severe eye strain after barely 20 minutes. It felt like the entire screen was constantly shimmering.

LG W2243T-PF - bought it 12 years ago and was the first monitor where I experienced my issues. Always caused severe eye inflammation and migraines during the dozen or so times I tried it in a time span of six months.

2 years later

MacBook Pro M3 Pro 13” is the worst I ever use. And the only one I cannot use with one eye patched freely. It took me about 4 months to barely use it with one eye patched and I’m still trying to adjust to it

15 days later

For me it was Samsung J3 2016 and S20 FE, after a few seconds of using i have a huge pain lasts for a couple of hours.
MacBook Air M1 - huge pain after a couple of minutes.
