Yeah same here. Someone with access needs to use HWiNFO or some other program to try and get the exact panel and compare.

Could be the regular brightness dip that OLED displays, perhaps in varying degrees, generally have and which matches the refresh rate. Perhaps it is a scan line. To be sure, we'd need to measure the display with 2 different sensors simultaneously.

This is correct, OLEDs, like CRTs are an emissive display, so there is a always a dark scan line passing down the screen as each pixel updates from one frame to another. Its an unavoidable part of OLEDs, though I guess it could be worse on some screens than others.

That's what we can see on the oscilloscope output.

photon78s that's a good idea! I just wonder if the GPU/mobo could cause any strain?

I have/had inflammatory bowel disease, around five years ago I realised through extensive food diaries that red meat/dairy was a factor. I cut out these foods, for the first year whilst my bowel disease improved dramatically, my screen induced migraines worsened. However, every year since my migraines have improved. I'm not sure if I am cured yet, but I haven't experienced any problems with screens or software in six months but I've been cautious.

When I'm sure I'm cured I'll write a big post outlining what I think the causes were, quoting scientific journal papers etc, but I don't know how much help it will be to regular forum users. This cause could be unique to me.

Seagull that's interesting because I also went dairy/red meat free in the last few years (no red meat for last 5y and dairy maybe 2-3x a year for last 3y or so) and that was before I started having screen problems as well
