If someone wants to try older iphones: my wife is using an iPhone SE 2 for a few years now, doesn't have issue with it, and I never had any issue with it either, including today using iOS 18.1.1.

(compared to my iPhone 12 Mini which is a pain to watch for more than a few minutes).

    Limitless I'm switching to an iPhone SE 2020 (2nd gen) from my iphone 8. It seems to have an identical display. I tried an 11, but the display was newer, and the OS was updated all the way, so it wasn't good for me. If you can find an older 11 that somehow still has a good battery (or where the battery has been replaced but not the screen) you might have luck but right now the SE 2020 seems to be the best bet. It's the same generation as an 11, so it'll support iOS updates for quite some time.

        I'd like to comment on the Fairphone 5 which I could test recently.

        It is definetly different than many other phones, you can switch between 60 an 90Mhz refresh rate manually and you can manually (!) enable DC dimming.

        The first day I used I coulduse it for 2-3 hours without issues but after a short while symptoms came back.
        I haven't tested all possible combinations of display setting yet.

        Unfortunately besides the sustainability thing it is not a very nice phone: Quite Slow, connection problems, camera ok, battery not.

        But woth trying it

            I managed to try the Oppo find X8 (not Pro) international version.

            straight away gave me bad feeling, caused a bit of nausea, even worse than iphone 14 pro 🙁

            I have had another success with an older phone I had lying around that I tested, it was an old Moto G8 Pro, it caused significant eye train, I activated developer options, and disabled HW rendering, and it actually made it usable. So if you ave an Android that causes you issue, it's worth a shot. I an 2 for 3 trying it.

              Report on Poco x4 gt. I bought a Poco x4 gt to see if it is good for my situation of eye pain and eye fatigue etc, all problems caused by ledstrain. And well, after some configurations the result was that I got a 70% improvement in eye fatigue, it's not perfect, but I can use it for 10 minutes, 10 minutes in which I do everything I need to with a smartphone.

              The next step is to save money to buy a Xiaomi 14 to see if it solves my problem.
              I don't know if my report is useful, but if it helps someone...

                  JOSEUISLEY someone on the tg group said the xiaomi 14 dithers on every color mode under a microscope. Oppo X8 does too. OnePlus 13 I think does not. Btw if anyone is curious all flagship Xperia phones use a 8+2 frc panel. One of the newer motos I think it was the 50 ultra but supposedly does not dither on vibrant color mode but does on all of the others which is weird
